Updated Books to Movies List

Okay, I’ve updated my list. And then there were six. Yay.

  • Children of Men (P.D. James)
  • Fight Club (Chuck Palahniuk)
  • About a Boy (Nick Hornby)
  • Trainspotting (Irvine Welsh)
  • Never Let Me Go (Kazuo Ishiguro)
  • The Virgin Suicides (Jeffrey Eugenides)

I’ve been carrying Children of Men around in my bag for a couple of weeks now and I still haven’t gotten back to it. GAH. Methinks this is going to be a tough challenge. Ahaha. Plus I’ve to look for the movie versions. I’ve already seen half of them, but I want to watch them again for the challenge, which officially starts tomorrow. Ahaha good luck to me.

  1. Hey, I found you on the spring blog hop. It’s a fun blog you have here.
My favorite book from your list was Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Love in the time of cholera. I know it didn’t make your final list, but you might still consider it, it’s a wonderful book. It;s not a sloppy love story at all, it’s magical realism at it’s best. I really enjoyed it. The movie with Javier Bardem was very good too. Not as good as the book. One hundred years of solitude by the same author is even better. THE book I would take on a deserted island.:))
I have only seen Children of men as a movie ,and it was very very thought provoking and all together a very good movie.
Well if you have time and like eye candy, you could check out my blog too, it’s about jewelry I make:

Thank You and good luck to you.

  2. still need to read or see Never Let Me Go. The others I’ve seen. But definitely a good list here!

  3. My reading lately has been very light and mindless–StarTrek books. Work has been stressful, so it’s been nice to distract myself with something fun.

  4. Great list! Can’t wait to hear you thoughts on Never Let Me Go. Loved the book, but still haven’t seen the movie. Truthfully, I’m a little nervous about Trainspotting…
