First Five Things for 2012

I’ve decided I’m going to start slow on my Breakthrough Year Plan. I don’t know how you can actually break through if you’re starting slow, but here’s my list anyway of the five things I plan to do for 2012. Yes, I have el grande plans!

Woohoo!

1. GET A JOB THAT PAYS THE RENT

Ah, top of the list. Still gotta have cash to burn, my friends. I do have a stable-ish full-time job right now. You know, my writing thing. Yes, my fake job is stable. Carpet Head keeps telling me it’s stable in the sense that I get regular work and I work on them every day and I get paid. Wahaha.

What I need to work on is to get more monies! Woohoo! Yeah, I just need to get paid enough – enough to pay the bills. I’ve to think about rent, utility bills, groceries, laundry, etc. Right now the money I get from writing can’t cover all of those. It potentially can improve, but I don’t know. I want to continue this freelance writing/editing job full-time, but I’m still having a hard time letting go of my eight years of heych-har (HR) experience and the job potential it can give me (more monies!). I’ve a couple of non-HR job applications. We’ll see what happens.

2. SUPERCHARGE MY MORNINGS

If you read my last Inspiration Monday post and checked out the link, then you might know what I’m talking about. Supercharging my mornings mean I dedicate an hour each morning to activities that would help me feel charged for the rest of the day. I love this idea because I remember how it felt back in school when I used to attend early morning football practices. I felt great after the field workout. I’m thinking of combining this with the next one on my list. Two birds with one stone, eh? Well, I’m also thinking of just doing simpler things like waking up earlier than usual, doing stretching exercises, etc. Haha. So much fun..

3. TAKE UP A 30-DAY CHALLENGE

This is still from that same Inspiration Monday post. I think I’m going to start with sumkinda workout. Actually, I got my eye on Insanity, a 60-day workout (read Tishie’s post about it). HAHHH. Aw c’mon, I can do diz.

4. DRAFT A WORK PLAN/SCHEDULE (AND STICK TO IT)

I made a semblance of a schedule a few days back. I was trying to fix my schedule to accommodate the writing projects I have right now. I need to fix it again to include all my other grand plans.

5. TRACK MY READING

Ever since I started writing I haven’t had time to read anything. I downloaded tons of stuff from Amazon and I haven’t gotten around to reading anything. Well, I read two very short books, but they were crap so I can’t possibly count them. I still have some pretty good books here that I need to get started on. I’m going to include a tracking page on this blog so that I’ll be reminded regularly.

So those are my first five things. A couple of these may not actually be along the lines of taking things slow, but I have to do them. I have other things in mind, but these five things more or less reflect the things that I really want for myself this year. I want to jump, people. JUMP! Welcome to Operation Jump. Okay, let’s start next month. Ahahaha.
