30 Day Challenges
They say 30 day challenges can help you form a habit. I’m counting on this little pearl of wisdom to help me get my crap together. I decided to focus first on getting my work schedule and writing groove in order before I try anything remotely wild (like that infamous Insanity workout). That’s why I’m doing a two-part 30-day challenge for #2 and #3 of my First Five for 2012.
The first part of the challenge involves waking up early every day for 30 days. I know, this seems a tad bit wussy, but I’ve been sleeping in for the last five months. That was good when I didn’t have a job to get up early for, but now I have to start the habit again. I find that I am able to do more when I start the day early, so this is the first step to getting back into some kind of a working groove. My goal is to be up by 7AM. Today is Day 1. I got up at 7:30. Hah. I’m okay with that as long as I’m on my computer before 8.
The second part of the challenge involves writing at least 200 words each day in my other blog. This is to help me practice writing. They say writers should write everyday so that’s what I’m doing. I only need 200 words so this shouldn’t be too hard.
For now I’ll be using these two challenges as my morning Supercharge Routine. They really are aimed to help me make this writing thing my bitch (yeah!). Later on, I’ll incorporate a few minutes of stretching exercises to add a physical component to the routine. Baby steps, baby steps.
People who inspire people
While I was looking for writing challenges that can help me with my own writing challenge, I came across a few people who were doing great things in their own way. As I write this I’m looking at the time and I realize that I should be working (eep!), so I’m just going to leave you with links to their awesomeness. Enjoy!
All for now. Have a great Wednesday, guys! :)
Hi Lei!
I’m trying to work on waking up early too. It’s a bit hard for me lately but the baby steps that we are doing helps us reach whatever it is that we are aiming for. Good luck on your writing! :)
I gotta do a better job with waking up early… so I can get to work early and go home early!!
I’ll give the ‘wake-up-early-thing’ a shot. Greatness from small beginnings!
