I’ve decided to join the 2nd Annual Banned Books Week Hop! This blog hop is hosted by Inspired Kathy @ I Am A Reader Not A Writer and Jen @ I Read Banned Books. :)
“Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Typically held during the last week of September, it highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community–librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types–in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.”

The blog hop runs from September 28th to October 6th. Winners will be announced on October 7th or 8th.
About Banned Books
I’m sure we’re all familiar with books being banned or challenged by certain groups for their themes and content. I believe in freedom for writers to write whatever they want and for readers to read whatever they want, but I also believe that we should also be responsible about everything, especially when it comes to the young ones. We should be responsible for what we put in kids’ or school libraries. Parents should be aware of what their kids are reading. Not all books are appropriate for everyone or for certain ages and I think it’s important to be able to discern for yourself or for your kids. I also think readers have a responsibility to think for themselves and not believe everything or get easily swayed by what they read.
