The World’s Longest Chain of Literary Tattoos by Litographs

I wrote about this project recently and I really loved the whole concept. It involves things I obsess about – literature and tattoos. Plus it’s a project by a company that creates damn cool literature-inspired graphic tees, tote bags, and what not.

Litographs has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its World’s Longest Tattoo Chain project. The company has broken down the entire text of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland into 2,500 unique temporary tattoos. The goal is to get all these 2,500 literary tattoos on the skins of Kickstarter backers and then showcase the photos on Litographs’ tattoo gallery. It’s certainly a unique way of reading the classic novel – a book that, I’m ashamed to admit, I’ve never read before and I’ve had it on my Kindle app for ages.

The Kickstarter campaign really blew up and all 2,500 places on the World’s Longest Tattoo Chain have already been reserved by enthusiastic backers. Luckily, Litographs has extended the project to include Through The Looking Glass. That’s two books on the skins of about 5,000 people! I, for one, can’t wait to see the gallery when it goes live later this year.

If you folks want to get in on this, you can still support the project and get your own temporary literary tattoo until late August. Check out the Kickstarter campaign right here: Litographs Tattoos: Wearable Tributes to Iconic Books
