Did you know that 756 million people, aged 15 and older, from around the world can’t read or write? Of that number, 115 million are between the ages of 15 and 24, and two-thirds of them are women. That’s bad. :(
To celebrate International Literacy Day and help raise awareness of literacy and its importance to the world, Grammarly put together this infographic of the latest stats on literacy.
This infographic is brought to you by Grammarly.
To get involved, please help spread awareness of this issue and consider donating books or money to a literacy-promoting charity organization (like Reading Is Fundamental, First Book or ProLiteracy), or check with your local library for opportunities to volunteer as a literacy coach.
Note: By posting this infographic, Grammarly is donating $10 in my name to First Book, an organisation that aims to provide to new books for children in need.
