I don’t really know what to do with this blog at the moment, so I thought I’d just take a page from LizofWords and do this Rapid Fire Book Tag thing for today. Yay! It’s basically just a bunch of bookish questions that I’m supposed to answer rapidly (explain explain). LOL.
Okay, blog post filler, here we go! Haha.
eBook or Physical book?
eBook, because they’re cheaper and I can read them on my phone and I’m kind of addicted to downloading ebooks from Kindle.
Paperback or Hardback?
I like paperbacks cos they feel softer in my hands for some reason.
Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
Ah, I’m mostly an online shopper because I work at home and, you know, I’m a download addict and all, but I also love browsing physical stores when I get the chance. Actually, being in a physical bookstore makes me feel all sorts of things that sometimes I want to cry. LOL.
Trilogy or Series?
I like trilogies more because they’re shorter. Series are fine as long as they’re about five to seven books long. Think Harry Potter and GRRM’s A Song of Ice and Fire. I love/hate series that go for longer than seven books cos I always feel like I have to read all of them!
Heroes or Villains?
Either or both! There are heroes and heroines that you just can’t help but love, but there are also villains that are super fun and devious and you can’t help but love them too.
A Book You Want Everyone to Read?
I don’t know. People like different things so I never really had that “OMG you have to read this” feeling about any book.
The Last Book You Finished?
An Unproven Concept by James Young. It was for a blog tour and it’s only the second book I’ve read this year. I’m in a serious reading and blogging rut. Ugh.
The Last Book You Bought?
Blackheath by Gabriella Lapore on Kindle. It’s currently on sale along with three other titles from Oftomes Publishing!
Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
A tape receipt
Used Books: Yes or No?
Yes! A book is a book. Haven’t bought any used book in a while though.
Top Three Favorite Genres?
Fantasy, science fiction, suspense/thriller
Borrow or Buy?
Buy. Must have all the booooks. LOL.
Characters or Plot?
Er, both? I can forgive a messy plot if there is at least one strong character that I can get behind with, but I can also forgive blah or annoying characters if the plot is genius or creative.
Long or Short Books?
Either. A good book is a good book. Last year, I read a few great novellas that really changed my mind about short books.
Long or Short Chapters?
I don’t care.
Name the First Three Books You Think of…
Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Battle Royale
Books that Make You Laugh or Cry?
Neither. Haha.
Our World or Fictional Worlds?
Fictional. I love books that have amazing world building.
Audiobooks: Yes or No?
Never tried them before.
Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?
But of course. An intriguing or gorgeous cover can make me interested in a book.
Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
Book to movie. I’m interested in how film makers can translate or interpret the book.
A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
Stardust by Neil Gaiman, Children of Men by P.D. James, Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman, to name a few. Sometimes it depends on whether I saw the movie first or read the book first.
Series or Standalones?
Both. As I mentioned above, I love/hate series because I feel like I have to read all the books in the series. I guess I have FOMO (fear of missing out). HAH.
