Of getting back on the mat and a guide to yoga

Look at the Feb cover page of my fitness journal! It’s not as pretty as the BuJo covers I see on Instagram, but it’s all I can come up with. Haha. Anyhoo, who cares, yeah? I’m happy to say my fitness journal is getting a little action these days because I’ve been regularly practicing yoga again! Yay. I’m back to attending classes at my home studio and I’m over the moon about that.

So it’s been over a week since I returned to yoga classes and I’m happy to note that it wasn’t so hard to come back. I was so anxious about attending classes again. I haven’t been to the studio in over six months and I was pretty sure I was going to die during hot yoga or vinyasa. Surprisingly, it wasn’t so bad. I can still keep up on a good day and, on not-so-good days when I have to take rests in between poses, it feels totally fine. That’s yoga for you, friends. It makes you realize it’s perfectly okay to be what, how and who you are at the moment. It’s a total life changer.

So there. Since I’m back on the mat these days, I have high hopes for February. I’m hoping to get my strength back in yoga and maybe tick off more things on my list. Maybe I’ll be able to do these, maybe not. Since it’s the month of love, I’m going to try to practice more self-love. We’ll see.

A definitive guide to yoga

Funny, just when I was getting back into a regular practice, I got this email about sharing an article on yoga. It’s a pretty long one, but it includes gorgeous infographics and is quite informative.

Here’s one of the infographics – it’s on the eight limbs of yoga, something I still need to read more about.
