I just realized it’s already July and we’re halfway through the year. Thought I should do a mid-year report of some sort just to lay out how my year has been. Also, I wanted to blog about something personal to balance out all the book spotlights I’ve been doing for the last few weeks. I admit, all those bookish posts are a sign of how lazy I am to blog about other things.
Anyway, not gonna ramble long about that. So, I’m basing this mid-year check on my new year post last January. Here we go!

I’m halfway through book one, Blood Rose, and it’s pretty interesting so far. I’ll definitely post a review when I’m done though I really can’t say when that’s going to be. I’m such a slow reader these days.

I’ve been a lazy blogger as always, that’s what. This blog has gotten so boring, I swear. I’m getting so frustrated over this reading and blogging rut, but I’m really really trying to get this blog back to how it was before. You know, more personal and fun (for me, anyway). I mean, sure I love posting about the books that catch my attention, but I also want to post more about other things, like stuff I find interesting or about what’s been happening in my life. Yadda yadda yadda.

Yay for release days! Amirite? Today I’m quite happy to be a part of the release blitz for Blood Rose, a new adult urban fantasy novel by author Danielle Rose! I first found out about this book via @Oftomes on Instagram and I was so intrigued by the cover and story that I couldn’t stop myself from pre-ordering the book, especially when it was on a special pre-order price! That was a few weeks ago and now the book is finally out!

I’ve to admit, I’m not really the gift-giving type. Probably got that from my family. I mean, sure, we celebrated special days but gifts were usually reserved for birthdays and Christmas. Most probably because we weren’t well off and there were more important things to spend on. This is also probably why I’m not great at picking presents. I tend to go for things that are useful as opposed to things that are nice to have. Know what I mean?
