Watch eeeet: Stories I wish I had written [contains stuff about old movies]

There are times when you encounter a story that’s so trippy and interesting and totally something you dig, and you just can’t help but wish that you wrote that story or that you can write something as close to fantastic as that story. I mean, you know what I mean, right? It could be a book or a movie – anything really – that makes you wish you thought of it first.

I haven’t been much of a reader for the last year or so, so these fantastic stories I’m referring to are actually movies that I’ve seen in the last few months. Just a warning, this post may contain some spoilers so if you haven’t seen any of these films – do a quick scroll, hurry! – and don’t want to know what happens in these movies, I suggest you turn away from this post now. Turn away, friend, and save yourself from, er, spoilers about old movies. Amsorrehhh..

I’m a sucky blogger, but check out these cool things!

laptop-keyboard

I really do suck as a blogger. Earlier this year I said I would roll out an updated version of my Going Freelance series and I haven’t done it. GAH. I’m really sorry about that, folks. I do intend to update that thing this year, but I just haven’t been in an “updating” mood for the past few weeks. In fact, I haven’t been in a “writing” mood for the past few MONTHS, which means I’ve been ridiculously unproductive work-wise. I haven’t been reading much either. I read a few books in January, but only read one in Feb and I am now behind my monthly reading goal of two books plus a classic. Yes, I’m a sucky reader, too.

And that’s not all. I haven’t played ultimate in months! I have this crazy eye thing right now. My left eye basically has limited movement and it causes me to have double vision when I look to my left. It’s crazy and it’s being treated and all that, but I haven’t been playing ultimate because I’d be totally useless on the field with this sucky vision thing.

Of workspaces, devious adorable puppies, and more

Faaaak, I just finished this long post, published it, decided to edit it and add a featured image, and it frickin’ disappears. So I had to write it all over again. Boo.

Anyway, I was going to do this post yesterday for What’s On Your Mind Wednesday, Also Known As Let Us Ramble About Stuff Day (it’s a real thing), but I didn’t get to finish it so it’s here, a day late. It’s a good time as any to ramble, I say.

Review of Foodpanda the online food delivery service

Foodpanda

I’m no Masterchef but I do like experimenting in the kitchen and I am perfectly capable of whipping up meals for me and the hubby. However, Carpet Head and I also order food delivery often. We usually order by phone and I haven’t tried ordering food online or through an app even though most restaurants have that option. That changed when I heard about Foodpanda, a relatively new online food delivery service.

Foodpanda is from the same group that brought us Zalora and Easy Taxi. The online food delivery service has already been operating in several countries before it launched in the Philippines in the middle of last year.  The app is also available for download from the App Store, Windows Store, and Google Play.

Girl Crush Friday: Gina Rodriguez from Jane the Virgin

Yup, I’ve a new girl crush. I’ve been girl-crushing on Gina Rodriguez (TwitterInstagram) ever since I started watching her TV series Jane the Virgin late last year. I’m actually a couple of episodes behind since I haven’t kept up with the series after the mid-season break, but I’m gonna catch up soon, you can be sure about that. It’s just a really fun and entertaining show.

If you’re not familiar with Jane the Virgin, the story is basically like this: Jane, who is in her early 20’s, is a virgin and she’s pregnant. Not by a miracle, of course (Gasp! Inmaculada!) but by accident – she was mistakenly artificially inseminated by the gynecologist who was filling in for Jane’s actual doctor and was feeling out of sorts after she caught her wife cheating, and who happens to be the sister of the baby daddy and the secret ex-lover of their father’s hot wife. Are you still with me? Hah.

The stack of books on my header photo is a stack of lies.

Today I would like to ramble about reading. Rather, about NOT reading any damn book at the moment. I apologize in advance for the utter uselessness of this post.

With the exception of The Hunger Games, I have not read any of the books featured on my blog header image. WTF, right? Lies, all lies! Haha. Well, these books have been on my ‘to be read’ shelf for a while now. In case the titles aren’t really visible, these are what’s on that stack of lies books:

Apartment Stuff: Spicing up a whole lotta wall space

wall sticker

We interrupt this program to present a feature post about prettifying empty wall spaces with cutesy artsy sticker things!

We have a lot of empty walls in our apartment. Most of the time I kinda like it that way – I love white space! – but I think we’ll be putting up a few photos and what not in some of the spaces soon. We have yet to have some of our wedding photos printed up and framed. I know, it’s been forever, but it’s something we plan to do before the year ends. It would be nice to have a few family photos on our walls, especially on the wall near the living room. I vant a typical Filipino wall filled with photos!
