Guest Contribution: Blogs to Look Out For in 2013

Hello, pretties. Here’s another guest contribution by writer Cass Brookes. I know, I know, this blog has been sadly neglected these days. I realize I won’t be able to post as often as usual because I have a lot on my mind, what with the wedding preps and all. If you want to contribute or guest post, feel free to email me, although bear in mind that I won’t be accepting every post. I’ve been getting a lot of those spammy guest post requests from dubious senders who don’t seem to have a clue what my blog is about. I’m sure you know what I mean. Anyway, enjoy this post! Have a great day! :)

Calling all bloggers! Cool blog tour with over $750 in prizes for bloggers!

Hey, friends! We interrupt this program (well, there’s no program, really), to tell you about an upcoming blog tour where you can receive a free e-book and have the chance to win over $750 in prizes! Check it out, friends. Check it out… ;)

Novel Publicity is currently recruiting for one of our gigantic whirlwind tours. YAY! Each whirlwind tour boasts hundreds of dollars in cash prizes and autographed books, sometimes even Kindle Fires. NP also provide eBook copies for all reviewers. This time, they’re touring the debut YA novel by Stephanie Fleshman, Render.

Choose to be one of the first to read this awesome new book, or, instead, host an excerpt, interview, or guest post. That’s right, you don’t even have to read the books to participate–although that’s definitely an option. Novel Publicity will provide your choice of a pre-formatted excerpt, interview, or guest post to make participation easy. Read more about the prizes and sign up below.

Monday Musings: I need more girly stuff

The week before last, I went to the alumni homecoming at my old firm and I had to borrow my sister’s pants and long cardigan. I also had to dig up some old black office flats because I didn’t have anything else to wear. Sister dear has some gorgeous wedges and pumps, but unfortunately my feet are a size larger than hers. Sadness.

Seriously, I need more girly stuff in my closet. Sure, I have some really cool tanks and graphic tees that I usually wear with cute shorts and my sister’s cool cargo skirt (which I luuurve to death), but I need a few pieces that I can wear to slightly more formal or ‘dressed up’ occasions. I can’t really wear my graphic tees all the time, you know. I need a cute blouse or a nice dress so that I won’t look underdressed at these pseudo fancypants events.

When I knew I was a writer

This started out as a post about how I feel like a fraud sometimes because I’m a writer who doesn’t do enough writing, if that makes sense. I started writing this post a few days ago and couldn’t get past three sentences. Then today I found out about Positive Writer’s First Writing Contest via @DanaSitar. It was just what I needed. I needed to remember that moment when I knew I wanted to be a writer. In this post I talk about how I started with writing. I’ll talk about how I feel like a fraud in another post. ;)

Fess Up Friday: I’m stressing about wedding preps in my head

What is my dream wedding? I honestly can’t remember what I pictured in my head about my wedding when I was a young girl. I mean, most girls had that fantasy, right? I know I had some sort of “dream wedding” scenario in my head, but I can’t seem to remember the details.

Why am I asking? Because I’m starting to stress about wedding preps in my head. Just in my head. I have a million thoughts in my head all the time. They’re mostly about the wedding colors, the mood, the theme. I always thought the THEME encompassed everything. Apparently, you have to determine the MOOD, too. I was like, uh, we’re having a garden wedding. What’s the theme? What’s the mood? Uh, garden wedding? Eep. Anyway, the caterer who also happens to do event styling kinda cleared that up for us, so now we have to create a mood board of some sort. I have tons of pictures from the net, but they’re all just stuff that I find nice and pretty. I don’t seek out anything specific or look for burlap table runner wedding stuff like those in the vintage or country themed weddings I’ve seen on the net. I need to put together something that would show our personalities!

Stuff In My Mail Wednesday! Sticker love from Rock N Rollerr

Yay, it’s Stuff In My Mail Wednesday! Yeah, I know, that was kind of a stretch. Anyway, I just wanted to do a shout-out to Jenny of Rock N Rollerr. She sent me these awesome stickers last month and I got them in the mail a couple of weeks ago! I’ve only used one so far. I have it on my trusty Nalgene water bottle. Ultimate players are all about the personalized Nalgenes, I tell you, and I was happy to add this cool sticker to my collection! Thanks, Jenny! ;)
