Hello there!

White Sky Project is a blog about books mostly (usually fantasy and sci-fi, but sometimes thrillers, gothic and contemporary fiction, too). It’s also a blog about freelance writing, yoga, tarot, graphic tees (because I love the art!), movies, TV shows, and more. Welcome! I’m grateful you’re here. :) – xoxo, Leah

Spotlight: Knightmare Arcanist by Shami Stovall (plus a $25 Giveaway)

Hullo! Today we’re having a book blast for Knightmare Arcanist by Shami Stovall. It’s out now and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Yay!

I joined this book blast because I read one of the author’s books, The Ethereal Squadron, not long ago and I really enjoyed it. I’m also posting a review of Knightmare Arcanist next week, so watch out for that.

In the meantime, read more about the book, check out a cool excerpt and enter the giveaway for a chance to win a $25 GC!

The Mesquite Tarot

Last March I saw an Instagram post by the Mesquite Tarot that it was on its final print run. They were giving out discounts to sell off their remaining stock.

Now this deck wasn’t really at the top of my wishlist, but I suddenly felt a mild panic about the idea that I won’t be able to find it anywhere anymore in the future. I mulled it over for about a couple of days, even pulling a card or two to help me decide. I’m pretty sure the cards said something about “need vs want” and “maybe now’s not the time to be impulsive” and all that, but clearly I had decided that I needed this deck. So I bought one and told myself it was a birthday gift. Haha.

I used a delivery service so I didn’t have to worry about my package getting lost (our postal system kinda sucks) and decided to get a couple other things from somewhere else to maximize the shipping. Yeah, it was a little pricey but I don’t regret it one bit. :)

Review: The Ethereal Squadron by Shami Stovall (plus a Giveaway!)

Today we’re featuring war time fantasy novel The Ethereal Squadron by author Shami Stovall. It’s about a strong female protagonist who disguises herself as a man to join the Ethereal Squadron, a military division of sorcerers, and fight in the great war (WWI, I think). Interesting, right? I thought so too, that’s why I decided to join this blog tour! And I’m glad I did because this book was a good read.

Read more about the book, check out my thoughts on the book, check out the really short (but intriguing!) excerpt, and, of course, enter the blog tour giveaway at the end of this post. Enjoy!

Feeling meh and other things (it’s just me rambling)

Happy 2019, friends!

Oh, I know, it’s already April. Just thought I’d post about something so I can actually have something new on this blog.

Feeling meh about stuff

So, how’s your year so far? I’m assuming that unlike me you’ve fully said your goodbyes to 2018 and have done all your prep and planning for 2019. I mean, you know, you’ve done whatever it is that you usually do at the start of each year. I hope you’re doing better than me when it comes to that. It’s already April (my birth month!) and I haven’t really done anything.

What would you do if you only had 24 hrs left? #MyFinal24

Are you subscribed to writer Alexandra Franzen’s newsletter? If not, you should be. Her letters are thoughtful and inspiring. Anyway, her new book So This Is The End: A Love Story has just been released! The novel is about the last 24 hours of the main character Nora’s life. Basically, the book poses the question: If you had just 24 hours to live, what would you do with your time?

So? What would you do?

Alex posed this question in her latest newsletter and I have to say it took me a few minutes to come up with my own list, which I’m sharing below.
