Meet A Blogger Today! Say Hi to Ashley of booknook!

Today we have Ashley of booknook! Say hi! :) – Leah

Thanks so much to Leah for giving me the opportunity to write this guest post!

My name is Ashley and I own a book blog called booknook. My blog is still fairly new. I created it on April 11th 2012 as a way to document the books I read and jot down my thoughts about each one.

When I first decided to make the blog, I had no idea what the book blogging world was like. I didn’t realize that there was such an amazing and friendly blogging community out there! So while I originally just intended to jot down my thoughts about books, this has since proven to be a more rewarding experience than I imagined!

Meet A Blogger Today! Say Hi to Tin of Love Saves The World!

Today we have Tin from Love Saves The World! Say hi! :) – Leah

A bit about me

Hi, all! My name is Tin. I’m a stay-at-home mom to 2 kids, ages 6 and 3. I started reading romance novels when I was supposed to be too young to read them (don’t tell my mom!) then I moved on to read popular fiction and historical fiction and then young adult novels and chick lit before settling back where I started, romance novels.

But when the band broke up, so did their friendship. Summer ran with the popular crowd, Tiernan was a rebellious wild-child, and Alice spent high school with her nose buried in books. Now, just as the girls are about to graduate, Level3 announces a one-time-only reunion show. Even though the concert’s 2000 miles away, Alice buys three tickets on impulse. And as it turns out, Summer and Tiernan have their own reasons for wanting to get out of town. But on the long drive cross-country, the girls hit more than a few bumps in the road. Will their friendship get an encore or is the show really over?

Going Freelance, Part 5: Challenging yourself, staying on track

Doing a 180 and deciding to do something completely different with your life is by no means an easy thing to do. And it can get a lot harder. It’s been about five months since I started doing freelance or online work and I am still trying to find my groove. By groove I mean a somewhat steady schedule when it comes to doing and completing my jobs. I get distracted a lot so most of the time I end up working late at night or into the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes, it doesn’t bother me since I don’t really have to wake up early the next day anyway. But sometimes it’s not so good when I do need to be up early the next day.

Going Freelance, Part 4: Sources of Inspiration and Information

When I decided to take the leap and go for what I wanted to do, I started finding a lot of inspiration on the world wide web. I found myself hopping on to different blogs and websites of people who went through a similar experience and are now doing their own thing and helping others get on their own groove.

In this post, I’m just going to list down these awesome blogs and websites.

Going Freelance, Part 3: Withdrawing from oDesk and PayPal

Last visited: May 1, 2016. Please note that I am no longer on Upwork (formerly oDesk) so I can no longer comment on the process of withdrawing funds from Upwork. Best to visit the Upwork support/help page for new updates and information. Thanks!

Most of my online jobs have me working for international employers and I receive payment through oDesk or PayPal since these are the most viable methods of payment available for Philippine freelancers. Accessing my millions (hur hur) money in both accounts is no problem at all. It’s really easy to withdraw from oDesk and PayPal and transfer funds to my bank accounts here in the Philippines. In this post I’ll just do a quick run-through of the process of withdrawing funds from oDesk and PayPal.
