Funky Things Monday: Father’s Day Picks from Gifts Less Ordinary

Father’s Day is right around the corner, folks! Got anything special planned for the dads in your life?I’ve to admit, I’m not really the gift-giving type. Probably got that from my family. I mean, sure, we celebrated special days but gifts were usually reserved for birthdays and Christmas. Most probably because we weren’t well off and there were more important things to spend on. This is also probably why I’m not great at picking presents. I tend to go for things that are useful as opposed to things that are nice to have. Know what I mean?Anyway, never mind what I was just babbling about. It’s almost Father’s Day and for those who are still clueless about what to get your dad, grandad, husband, brother, boyfriend, friend or whoever, here’s something you should check out!Gifts Less Ordinary, an online marketplace for unique and unusual gift items, has a Father’s Day selection that’s pretty nifty if you’re looking for something cool and different for the fathers in your life!

15 Days of Writing True

This month I’m in a writing workshop called 15 Days of Writing True, created by one of my favorite writers and surfer girl crushes, Camille Pilar, and the amazing Sofia Cope, who I only discovered because of this workshop. If you’ve heard of Camille and Sofia, then you’ll know how utterly breathtaking their individual works are and you’ll understand when I say that, together, they created a workshop that is all kinds of beautiful. I mean, seriously. Camille’s exquisite words and Sofia’s gorgeous art together? It’s truly sublime.

Book Blast and Giveaway: Daughter of Aithne by Karin Rita Gastreich

Today we’re featuring Daughter of Aithne, book 3 of the Silver Web trilogy by author Karin Rita Gastreich. I read and reviewed book 2, Sword of Shadows, some time last year and really liked it. I would’ve reviewed this one, too, but I just don’t have the time right now. I’m happy to spread the word about it though!

Read more about the book and check out the giveaway at the end of this post!

Rapid Fire Book Tag!

I don’t really know what to do with this blog at the moment, so I thought I’d just take a page from LizofWords and do this Rapid Fire Book Tag thing for today. Yay! It’s basically just a bunch of bookish questions that I’m supposed to answer rapidly (explain explain). LOL.

Okay, blog post filler, here we go! Haha.

My February is basically ‘Challenge Month’

Last month I posted my list of goals for the year and there were only six things on that list: read 3 books a month, write in my Q&A A Day For Writers journal, practice yoga, play ultimate, eat healthy and learn about chakras, meditation, etc.

These “goals” were more like “things I want to do this year” and I wanted to be pretty chill about them because I didn’t want to pressure myself. Anyway, a month into the new year I realized that some of these goals will really have to take a backseat if I focus on one or two because that’s exactly what happened.
