Hullo! Today we’re having a book blast for Knightmare Arcanist by Shami Stovall. It’s out now and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Yay! I joined this book blast because I read one of the author’s books, The Ethereal Squadron, not long ago and I really enjoyed it. I’m…
Last March I saw an Instagram post by the Mesquite Tarot that it was on its final print run. They were giving out discounts to sell off their remaining stock. Now this deck wasn’t really at the top of my wishlist, but I suddenly felt a mild panic about the…
Today we’re featuring war time fantasy novel The Ethereal Squadron by author Shami Stovall. It’s about a strong female protagonist who disguises herself as a man to join the Ethereal Squadron, a military division of sorcerers, and fight in the great war (WWI, I think). Interesting, right? I thought so too, that’s why I decided to join this blog tour! And I’m glad I did because this book was a good read.
Read more about the book, check out my thoughts on the book, check out the really short (but intriguing!) excerpt, and, of course, enter the blog tour giveaway at the end of this post. Enjoy!
Happy 2019, friends!
Oh, I know, it’s already April. Just thought I’d post about something so I can actually have something new on this blog.
Feeling meh about stuff
So, how’s your year so far? I’m assuming that unlike me you’ve fully said your goodbyes to 2018 and have done all your prep and planning for 2019. I mean, you know, you’ve done whatever it is that you usually do at the start of each year. I hope you’re doing better than me when it comes to that. It’s already April (my birth month!) and I haven’t really done anything.
We’ve come to the end of the year again, friends. As always, thank you to everyone who drop by this space in one way or another. You guys are rad. And, of course, I’m here doing this giveaway hop once again as a way of saying thank you. :)

Are you subscribed to writer Alexandra Franzen’s newsletter? If not, you should be. Her letters are thoughtful and inspiring. Anyway, her new book So This Is The End: A Love Story has just been released! The novel is about the last 24 hours of the main character Nora’s life. Basically, the book poses the question: If you had just 24 hours to live, what would you do with your time?
So? What would you do?
Alex posed this question in her latest newsletter and I have to say it took me a few minutes to come up with my own list, which I’m sharing below.
Today we’re featuring Skin Deep, a romantic suspense by author Michelle Hanson! I usually gravitate towards fantasy and sci-fi but I also get easily intrigued by thrillers and suspense novels and I found this one pretty intriguing!

Here I am again with a book blog tour because spreading the word about books that intrigue me is kinda my thing. Today we’re featuring Dark Tomorrow: Rise of the Crow by author Jeremiah Franklin. It’s book one of a post-apocalyptic thriller trilogy. Check out that cool cover, yeah?

I don’t really have actual shelves to clear because most of my books are in ebook form, but I wanted to be in this giveaway hop anyway! What I really need to do is clear my TBR pile. I seriously need to start reading (and finishing!) stuff. Anyway, yay for bookish giveaway hops, right?

I’m at an all-time low when it comes to reading. It’s already September and I’ve only finished a total of four books so far. That’s a bit sad, right? It feels really sad. Let me give you a rundown though.
Today is for sci fi! Well, on this blog anyway. I’m participating in the blog tour for Aries’ Red Sky by author James Young. I’ve read one of his books, An Unproven Concept, last year and it was pretty interesting. I’m sure this one will be, too.
Check out the book, read an excerpt and enter the blog tour giveaway for chance to win some cool goodies.
I’ve been pretty chill about my goals this year because I didn’t want to put too much pressure on myself. I think I became too chill about it though. I had about nine things on my 2018 list but I can honestly say I’ve only been somewhat true to three* of them. And I say “somewhat true” because I feel like I’m only hitting the minimum with those three goals.
When June came around I was feeling pretty blah about doing a mid-year check because, you know, I’ve nothing much to show. Then I joined the Respark Challenge by Arriane Serafico of The Purposeful Creative. Respark was a 5-day challenge to help participants get the spark back into their goals and motivation. I did all challenges and though I did feel like they helped a lot, I still haven’t done anything more to really jumpstart my goals again. Insert huge sigh here. Yup, looks like I’m still pretty chill about my goals. Hah.
So I thought, maybe doing this mid-year check will help turn the spark into a bit of a flame, yeah? You know, accountability and all that. Bahaha. Anyway, here goes.
It’s been a while since my last T-Shirt Thursday, yeah? Truth be told, I haven’t been browsing my favorite graphic tee sites for a while and I really don’t buy tees that often, anyway, because I always tell myself that I need more formal-ish type tops, but then again I’ve also been trying to stop myself from buying any more clothes. I don’t need more clothes, seriously. I have too many things I don’t use – shirts, frisbee jerseys, singlets, dresses, shorts, etc. I seriously need to purge my closet again AND give away or donate the stuff I don’t use anymore. I’m embarrassed to admit this, but we (my sis and me, I mean) still have the old stuff we discarded in our last purge, which was a couple of years ago! They’re all still up in storage. MY GAHD.
ANYWAY, I’m rambling. I know I have stuff to do with my current stuff and my old stuff and I really should do something about all that this week or this month, BUT, for today, let me just share the joy I get from seeing graphic tees with seriously cool and fun art. That’s really what I love about these, anyway – the cute and awesome art! Check out the ones that caught my eye this week.
Today we’re featuring fantasy novel Asta and the Barbarians by Becca Fox. It’s an intriguing book with a really cool cover, too! Seriously, check out the blurb. You can tell right off the bat that this is a story with a really kickass heroine who’s going to kick a lot of butts.

Today we’re featuring a fantasy book How to Catch a Magical by Samuel Thews. Yay! After reading the blurb and the snippets from readers’ reviews, I got the feeling that this book is pretty fun and interesting, so I really hope to read it one of these days.
