My latest minimalist design blog crushes

minimalist blogs

I love blogs and websites that have clean and simple themes. LOVE them and I often visit some of my favorites not just to check out their latest posts but also admire their pretty pretty blogs. I also try to emulate them by playing around with my blog design hundreds of times a month. Seriously, I am never satisfied with how my blog looks.

Anyway, I posted a list of my ‘favorite minimalist blog design’ several few years ago and I think it’s time for another one! So, here you go! Yayyy.

Stuff In My Mail Wednesday! Sticker love from Rock N Rollerr

Yay, it’s Stuff In My Mail Wednesday! Yeah, I know, that was kind of a stretch. Anyway, I just wanted to do a shout-out to Jenny of Rock N Rollerr. She sent me these awesome stickers last month and I got them in the mail a couple of weeks ago! I’ve only used one so far. I have it on my trusty Nalgene water bottle. Ultimate players are all about the personalized Nalgenes, I tell you, and I was happy to add this cool sticker to my collection! Thanks, Jenny! ;)

What’s up, Doc? Of giveaways, new posts and what not

Lemme first congratulate Alina for winning the Jane Austen Giveaway on my blog! BIG thanks to everyone who joined the giveaway! If you didn’t win, don’t worry. There are more giveaways coming up! I’ll be posting about another big one on November 5th and we have the Gratitude Giveaway Hop on November 15th. Of course, I’ll be hosting giveaways in December, too. :)

In the meantime, have you joined any these ongoing giveaways yet?

In other news, check out my new post over at Color It YOU! I talk about how I created my author bio box at the end of this post. I’ve to say I’m enjoying this new blog right now. I feel bad about neglecting my writing blog. I just got a new comment over there about the 30 day creative writing challenge that I was supposed to do LAST MONTH. Good grief. I really need to get on that.
Anyway, hope you’re having a great day! :)

How to acquire mad blog design skillz

You may have noticed that I changed my blog layout again. I tend to do that every couple of months or so. You see, I’m always trying to make it look easier on the eyes–mine and yours. And, yes, I do get bored with my blog layout A LOT.

Now, a web designer I am not, though that is definitely on my top 3 of things I want to be, right below published author and just above skilled seamstress. I don’t know how to design a blog or website from scratch, but I understand enough about html and I use what little knowledge I have to make a few tweaks here and there. See, you don’t need to be a web design wiz in order to come up with a nice and original-looking blog.

In this post, I’m going to let you in on my mad blog designing secrets by taking you through the process of how I ended up with this new blog design all by my-“non web designer”-self. *beam*

Tips on Organizing

This was a guest post I wrote for A Taste of T.

A few guest bloggers and I were filling in for T while she was busy moving so I thought I  just use this to share a few simple tips on organizing! I’ve moved around a few times and these are the few things I always try to remember. I can’t say I’ve followed them strictly but they’re a great guide. These tips are also useful even when you just want to fix or reorganize your room or a part of your apartment.

7 Things

The gorgeous Roma tagged me on this awhile back. Actually it came with a Stylish Blogger Award (me, stylish! woohoo!). I don’t know about being stylish, but I do know about random posts! I am Mastah of Random Posts! Say it with me.. Mastahhh..

Seven Random Things

1. You know that song 7 Things by Miley Cyrus? I actually like that song. I don’t like her, but I like a lot of her songs like The Climb and Party in the USA. They are very catchy, you know.

Publishing on a custom domain

Whoa, I did it! Notice that my url doesn’t have blogspot anymore? I am now publishing on a custom domain! Woohoo. Anyway, I don’t know yet how this is going to change my blogging activities, but I like the thought of having my own dot com. I’ve been blogging on White Sky Project for a few years now, so I thought it was about time that I own it. I did my research, learned a few things, and finally took the plunge. Basically, here’s what I did.

What Job Industry Best Suits You?

In 13 days I will be celebrating my 7th year with the firm. SEVEN. YEARS. HOLY. MOLY. I never thought I would last seven years. Truth be told, I’m still wondering if I’m in the right industry or whether I can keep doing what I’m doing for seven years more (eep!).

Well! This is what this little quiz from FemaleNetwork.Com has to say about that:

You should be in Management!
This includes departments such as human resources, accounting, and administration—those who work behind the scenes to make sure the company runs smoothly and efficiently. The Ps of patience and perseverance are needed since this kind of work tends to be largely clerical or routinary and involves a significant amount of attention to detail. Lastly, especially with HR, it requires a good understanding of people and people management. It is quite stable, regularly in demand, and offers a good amount of career growth
Eeen-ter-esting. Honestly, I just want to be a mananahi. But first I have to get my buh-hind in sewing school. What are the good sewing schools in Manila?
