Spotlight: Showtime (Marvelle Circus #1) by Chloe Kayne

The weather’s been really nice and cool lately. Not cold enough to make you wanna get one of those nifty snow jackets, but cool enough to make me feel slow and lazy. Now I didn’t want to seem unproductive so today I decided to feature another book from my review pile! Yayyyyy. I feel bad about making these authors wait so long for my reviews, so I’m trying to make up for it by featuring their books in the meantime. Mwahaha. Anyway, I first saw this book on Goodreads and I was intrigue. Check it out, folks!

About the book

The grandeur of the traveling circus is at its peak in the early 1920s when sixteen-year-old Laila Vilonia is searching for an escape from her bleak future. Behind the gates of the legendary Marvelle Circus, she is thrust into a mysterious world she never knew existed—a paradise populated with outcasts. It’s in this glamorous new home that Laila sparks a controversial romance with notorious sideshow performer, “The Disappearing Man,” and learns just how dangerous her new life can be.

Touring the picturesque eastern coast of America, Laila’s immersed in friendship, vaudeville, festivals, sequins, and serial killers. But behind the curtain, a sadistic plan is brewing that will crack the very foundation upon which she’s become so dependent. — Get this book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and iBooks.

On Bad Reviews (a guest post by author Samantha Durante)

Enjoy this guest post by Samantha Durante, author of the book Stitch (YA paranormal/dystopian romance). Here she talks about bad reviews. I’m sure many readers wonder how authors feel when their books receive negative reviews. I, for one, hate giving bad reviews and I always try to be diplomatic and fair whenever a book falls below my expectations. I always try to make it balanced and fair and I make sure to say the review is only from my point of view and others may not share it. Anyway, here’s our chance to hear it from an author who’s had her share of negative reviews. :)
